Pre-Season Outlook

The Bills traded Diggs to the Texans this spring, following a four-year run in Buffalo that was defined by an odd mixture of consistent production and drama. On the field, Diggs' only real inconsistency was the nature of his production last season, with the first half of the year representing arguably the best statistical stretch of his career and the second half of the year being his worst. Diggs averaged 92.7 yards and 10.8 targets in nine games under OC Ken Dorsey last year, but the production fell off a cliff after Dorsey was fired and replace by Joe Brady. In nine games under Brady, including the playoffs, Diggs had a single touchdown and topped 52 yards just twice. He still saw more than one-fourth of Buffalo's targets under Brady, but they didn't amount to much of anything, whereas the rest of the Bills offense had more success after changing coordinators. Diggs is likely happy to leave after two years of trade rumors, though he might not see his accustomed target volume on a team that already had Nico Collins and Tank Dell at wide receiver. Second-year QB C.J. Stroud should be able to keep all three receivers fantasy-relevant, just not to the same extent Diggs became accustomed to as a target-hogging No. 1 in Buffalo.
